Khloe Kardashian’s Baby Wishes

Khloe Kardashian 2009

The Kardashians have more baby news to share! Little sister Khloe is hoping to join big sister Kourtney on the baby train and she’s willing to do the work to get a ticket.

Just a week after Kourt made her big baby announcement on the cover of US Weekly magazine, Khloe has replaced her on the cover with the revelation that she will soon be starting IVF treatments. The covers are vastly different given that Kourtney participated in her cover story and raked in the profits of the exclusive news while Khloe’s news is revealed through anonymous sources selling their story to the tabloid.

“She is desperate for a baby with Lamar [Odom] and will do whatever it takes,” a source tells the mag of her alleged decision to start fertility treatments. “They have faith the IVF will work.”

It has been no secret that Khloe wants a baby with her Los Angeles Lakers’ husband having chronicled their attempts on their own reality show “Khloe Lamar” earlier this year. According to the couple, they started trying for a child of their own immediately following their wedding in 2009 to no avail. After two years of attempts, they may in fact be ready to shell out the $10,000 to $15,000 the treatments cost.

If the couple really have decided to give IVF a try, they have plenty of company with a flood of celebrities turning to the fertility treatments in recent years. Here’s a few of the stars who have given IVF a try in order to have a baby:

Giuliana Rancic: It’s been a rough year for the E! News host who started the year with baby dreams and is ending the year having a double mastectomy. The reality star has chronicled her difficulties having a baby on her hit Style network show “Giuliana Bill” from their decision to try to conceive naturally in 2009 through her current breast cancer diagnosis. After more than a year of trying, the couple turned to IVF in March 2010 and immediately got pregnant only to suffer a miscarriage eight weeks later. A second attempt was not successful in November 2010. They were getting their ducks in a row for her third IVF attempt in October 2011 when a precautionary mammogram discovered that her early stage breast cancer. She initially opted for a lumpectomy and radiation treatment which did not successfully rid her of the cancer. In order to improve her chances of being cancer free, the host opted for a double mastectomy in December 2011. For now the couple have put their baby plans on the back burner while she recovers.

Marcia Cross: The “Desperate Housewives” star skipped her honeymoon and started IVF treatments immediately following her marriage to Tom Mahoney in 2006. The treatments were successful and the couple’s twins, Eden and Savannah, were born eight months later.

Brooke Shields: The “Suddenly Susan” has had the experience of conceiving both naturally and with the help of IVF. The actress was all set to start the fertility treatments that helped her conceive her daughter Rowan in 2003 when she found out she was already pregnant with daughter Grier in 2006. She wrote in her book Down Comes The Rain of her experience with the treatments, “The whole process was quite an ordeal, and we became slaves to the time of day and to little vials of liquid. We’d find ourselves at dinner with friends, and then we’d have to sneak off to a coat room, where we’d huddle over syringes and a travel-size cooler filled with small bottles of drugs.”

Courteney Cox: The “Friends” star and her then husband David Arquette turned to IVF to help them conceive daughter Coco. She told Good Housekeeping magazine of their decision, “In vitro is a wonderful thing that people can do in this day and age, and I am lucky enough to be able to afford it.”
